Add even a few variables and the state space becomes astronomical:

Every behavioral model chooses what to keep and what to discard.

Simplify trajectories.
Aggregate flows.

Define categories of risk.

Pool time into slices.

Each step maps many possible realities into one labeled bucket.

5. Can We Model Behavior Without Losing Its Soul

We already model behavior. The question is whether we can do it without erasing the very nuance that matters.

Some ways forward:

1. Multi resolution modeling

Keep multiple levels of abstraction. High level flows for planning. Fine grained micro-patterns for safety, accessibility, and response.

2. Preserve tails

Rare events carry disproportionate importance. Slip events, erratic motion, unexpected slowdowns, micro-clusters. These must have modeling capacity allocated to them.

3. Cross modal grounding

Combine movement with context: weather, lighting, room function, time. Behavior only makes sense relative to environment.

4. Real environments as living laboratories
